Zarak's newsletter funnel explained

In partnership with

Hey, it's Tommy.

I just spent 8 hours analysing Zarak's newsletter funnel, and discovered his social proof is what drives the entire system.

In today's breakdown:

  • His sign-up page features testimonials from 7-8 figure marketers

  • His thank you page misses the chance to book more calls

  • His welcome email builds trust but lacks clear next steps

THE BREAKDOWN: ZARAK'S NEWSLETTER FUNNEL EXPLAINED

Why I chose this example: Zarak has built a $200,000/month agency and claims his newsletters drives $100,000 in weekly e-commerce revenue. His funnel uses strong social proof from big names in the industry to build trust fast.

Disclaimer: Zarak's goal is not 100% to book meetings from it, but in case he need to. This is what he should change.

Let's dive in...

1. SIGN UP PAGE

What they're doing well:

  • Strong social proof from industry heavyweights (Go here for the full page: https://thecopycouncil.com/)

  • Using quotes from 7-8 figure marketers builds immediate trust for someone who claims to make $100M

  • This likely drives high conversion rates as people want to learn from someone vetted by pros they know

Potential improvements:

  • Replace the car video with a simple income proof graphic showing real results

  • Videos of cars don't show what you'll learn - income proof directly shows the outcome

  • This could boost sign-ups by 15-20% by making the value clearer at first glance

The sign up page is quite long in my opinion. There is a theory that consumption increases conversions.

Although true for sales pages I don’t think this is true for sign up pages.

It’s a simple newsletter, you are not selling anything at the end of the day.

2. THANK YOU PAGE

What they're doing well:

  • Clear reminder of all the free training they'll receive

  • Listing specific resources with dollar values ($200K/month roadmap) makes subscribers feel they got a win

  • This reduces immediate unsubscribes and builds anticipation for the emails

Potential improvements (to book more calls):

  • Add a big, bold call booking button with text "Book Your 15-Min Money Plan Call Now"

  • There's currently no call-to-action for booking a meeting at this hot moment (which is when you want to capitalise on it)

  • This simple addition could generate 5-10 call bookings per 100 sign-ups when interest is highest

I like the fact that there is a crystal clear next step: check your inbox

Stop trying to be clever, be clear.

3. WELCOME EMAIL

What they're doing well:

  • Raw honesty about what to expect builds trust

  • Phrases like "I will challenge your beliefs" and "I won't hold back" create curiosity

  • This approach likely keeps open rates high for future emails as subscribers expect real value

Potential improvements:

  • Replace the PS with a clear call-booking CTA: "PS: Want results faster? Reply 'CALL' to book a 15-min strategy session"

  • The current PS asks for a reply but doesn't direct people to book a call

  • This simple change could double call bookings from the welcome email with minimal effort

3 TACTICS YOU CAN STEAL FROM ZARAK'S NEWSLETTER FUNNEL

  1. Stack testimonials from the biggest names in your industry - Reach out to top people you've worked with and ask for a single-sentence quote about your skills.

  2. Promise emails with a specific outcome - Tell people exactly how often they'll hear from you and the result they'll get ("$100M Online Marketing Secrets").

  3. Be brutally honest about what to expect - Setting clear expectations in your welcome email builds trust and keeps people opening future messages.
